Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Temporary Restraining Order

I am a student and I was residing with my friend in his apartment, we had an altercation, and he attacked me in the car while driving, I defended myself, and attempted to get out the car he wouldn't let me and I had to jump out of the car. I walked back to the apartment, he was there, I just gathered my things and left. I came back the next day and the locks were changed. I called police, when I was advised to call locksmith. He came home and I was there he got on the phone and left. I guess when he left he went and got a restraining order. Which I was served while I was cooking in the kitchen and I had to leave. This is a major inconvenience to me and I've been painted as this attacker which it isn't the case. I wanted to counter this, but the officer would not let me, which I think is illegal also. He said I'd have to wait until the court case this monday. My question is what should I do, he has attacked me before and cut me, I went to the hospital and got stitches. What should I bring with me to the court? I really don't want to be screwed again. Can I sue for defamation of character or something, because this can really tarnish my record and what about the officers?

Re: Temporary Restraining Order

I recommend that you obtain an attorney asap. Additionally, most criminal defense attorneys do not charge a consulation charge (Such as myself). Good luck.
