does a spouse or someone engaged to be married have to testify agaisnt thier loved one in court if forced to come to court.

There is no "Engaged Privilege". The Spousal Privilege MAY mean that a spouse does not have to testify against the person they are married to under certain circumstances. However, that does not mean that the spouse can ignore a subpoena and not show up. It also only applies to events and conversation that occurred during the marriage, not before.
There are many things that are not covered by the privilege which a spouse can be compelled to testify about. You should discuss this with the attorney representing the person who is on trial.
