Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Threat of Charges filed
I got into a fight 3 1/2 years ago and someone video taped it. The person I got into the fight with never filed a police report/pressed charges. However the person that video taped me is now threatening to press charges with the victims help. It has been 3 1/2 years, can he still do that? If so what could happen to me?

Re: Threat of Charges filed
The statute of limitations is probably either two or three years, depending on how violent the fight was and whether weapons were used, so you are probably safe. There are situations where the statute of limitations could be longer, but you didn't mention any of those circumstances, so I assume they don't apply.
