Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Threats/Harassment

What are the grounds to file a restraining order against someone in the State of FL?

I have a been repeatedly harassed by a woman who has called my home to harass/threaten me. She has also called my place of business posing as a local Sheriff employee asking to speak to my supervisor and then sent a letter to my GM at work asking him to terminate me because I had written a bad check in 2003- which is bad for business. (This check had been taken care of, but is still showing on the county website) All of this is because she believes her husband and I are having an affair. (not that it matters... but I haven't spoken to the man in 3 years)

Re: Threats/Harassment

You can go to the clerk's office in Lee County and ask for paperwork to fill out to get a restraining order. If you can claim and substantiate two incidents your complaint will be reviewed by a judge and he or she will decide if there is enough to warrant a hearing. At that point the other party will be served with a notice of the hearing and will be given a chance to respond to the judge
