Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I really don't want to be in trouble with the law.

I was questioned about taking something from a house, the people didn't know who really did it then, they know now.....

I was friends with a family, I have a boy that is 15, that had stayed over their house a couple different time's as well. Long storey short, so the cop's come to my house who then questioned me about some missing stuff. I said I didn't know what they were talking about, and so did my boy. Well, I went to see the detective 2 time's on my own and tried to cooperate, so then this last week I took my boy to the police station with me to tell the detective what happened so my boy was arrested, whom by the way has several mental issues, add, adhd, turrets syndrome. We made a confession, for everything, and now after all of that then the detective say's that state's attorney's office is getting the case and is probably going to have to arrest me, and charge me with dealing in stolen property. No, the item's that were sold weren't mine, but they were given a confession and he was put at the jac center for a while that day, he's a minor and can't get a criminal record. I was told this by the detective. Isn't this the end of it now? What can I do?

Your situation is not unlike those that we come across on a regular basis, where someone cooperates with law enforcement and assumes that they'll receive the benefit of cooperating, only to find that their statements are being used against them. This is why it's critical to seek legal representation before speaking with the police. I strongly suggest you hire an attorney.
