Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

If someone verbally threatens you what can be done about it. I had a guy threaten me saying he was gonna beat my ass. What can I do about it legally.

You can call the police who may arrest him for assault. You can file for a restraining order (injunction against contact). You can protect yourself using reasonable force.
