Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I'm a victim of identity theft, i live in a different state from the person that is stealing my identity. I made my police report back in June 2012 and have been trying to reach the proper person(s) in charge in NY. Well i spoke with a sergeant once and a detective and they both basically said there's nothing they're going to do anything because i live in another state and it'd up to my state to do the investigation. From that time i have sent 2 package to NYPD with proof of information and i call on numerous occasion. Either the detective is not there, just left, in an interview, i've left many many message and to no avail, no phone call back. what should i do from here?

Most states have departments that deal with Identity theft. If you live in Florida, then you should contact the attorney general's office and make a complaint. Same goes if you live in NY.
