Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
violation of federal probation
Can I be violated for not notifying my P.O before resigning from my employment? If so , what could happen next.
I left my employment to seek a better job opportunity and didn't notify my P.O

Re: violation of federal probation
Yes, you can be violated for leaving your job while on probation without telling your probation officer (especially on federal probation). While it may not seem like a big deal to you (because you left for a better job), your probation officer needs to know where you are and how to contact you at any given time. If you change jobs, and don't tell your probation officer, how can they find you and/or get in touch with you? As for what happens, its a technical violation and would depend on the underlying charge that you are on probation for, how long you have been on probation, when your termination date is, etc. More information would be needed to answer that question.
