Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I volunteer as a book keeper fro amvets post 2006. Monday I was accused of taking an envelope containing $190 from the safe, when asked about the envelope I said yes I do have the envelope, I will be bringing it back on thursday, which i did. In the mean time someone jumped the gun and called the local sheriff and filed a report. So now the envelope has been returned with the $190 in it, there was no intent of keeping this $190 but yet the police now have an open case on this. What should I do now?

You need an attorney right away. Even temporarily depriving a person of their property, can constitute theft. However, you said you lacked intent. Therefore, you really need an attorney now.
