Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Vop
I was given 10 days jail and 12mos probation on a DUI second in 5yrs. I would be done in June, but was caught in another county for DWLS. The county Im serving probation gave me a VOP. I have a lawyer and there is a hearing set in a couple weeks. Is there a chance I may NOT get jail time? Should I expect to go to jail that day? I know my lawyer will probably call me, but I am freaking out right now wondering how bad it can be. I've been told it all depends on the judge. I work F/T and if I have to go away for more than 10days I'll lose my job. Can someone at least give me an idea if I there is an alt. to jail time. If there isn't, at least I can start preparing. Thank you.

Re: Vop
Yes I would expect 30 days at a minimum of jail time on both the new DUS and the VOP.
