Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

VOP warrent

A friend has an 8 year old Violation of Probation Warrent in Florida. The original charge was for Depositing with the Intent to Defraud & Grand Theft. This friend hasn't been hiding. Is ther a statute of limitations on this? That was the first time they had been in trouble and my friend hasn't been in any trouble since.

Re: VOP warrent

If your friend has been living open without any effort to hide, he may have defenses to a warrant. However, he will still have to deal with the violation of probation.

I would be happy to help if I can. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.

Re: VOP warrent

Sorry, but there is no statute of limitations on a Violation of Probation. Hopefully, the violation is not too serious. It probably has no bond, but given the age the court may be willing to give a bond with the idea that he'd be turning himself in.
