Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I have a warrant and have not been arrested. I know that I am facing these charges because I was contacted by a detective. They tried to have me come meet for "My side of the story" The trilogy of charges are (Dealing In Stolen Property, Grand Theft and False Verification of Ownership) I don't understand how they are charging me with DSP? I am not a crime boss or some kind of criminal enterprise. The total amount was less than $300 so how then do they charge me with Grand Theft? I am really worried about this because I have once previously been to prison. Can someone answer these questions and give me some advise on what I should do. Thanks

You are asking for advice about what to do and not giving any details about the case. However, since this is an open forum you should not give details about the case. Instead, to give you some peace of mind because you are worried, your best option is to go see an attorney in your area. DSP is a very broad statute and includes a lot of things that people don't initially think of. If you were a "crime boss" it just means that you would be getting more serious charges such as RICO and conspiracy and other crimes much stiffer penalties. Go see an attorney right away. This forum can't really answer your question that needs to be answered in private.
