A warrant was issued for a persons arrest in California for grand theft. the person lives in Florida. The bond was set at $500,000. Will Florida actively pursue this individual because of this warrant? Also, If the individual is taken into custody in Fla. how long typically will the jail hold him until California must notify them if they want him extradited? Thanks

The real question is whether California will seek extradition of the person is arrested in Florida on the CA warrant. Typically, states west of the Mississippi river do not seek extradition from the other side on non-violent warrants.
As for Florida, the law in Florida allows them to hold him up to thirty days to see if CA will come and get him. Also, he would likely be able to post the $5,000 bond in Florida if he did not want to wait the thirty days in jail.
