Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have a warrent out on me for violation of probation. My question is do I have to turn myself in, missing work and appointments, or can I simply go to the court clerk and make a court date?

Well you have three choices .. (1) ignore the warrant which is a bad idea....(2) wait to get picked up on the warrant or (3) turn yourself in. If you have an attorney, the attorney can contact your probation officer and any sheriff seeking to make the arrest and make arraingments so that you can turn yourself in at a more convenient time and try to work out a deal with the State Attorney prior to the surrender so that you may be able to get right in and out. I don't know the extent of your violation or if you have had any prior violations, however, it is worth a try.

If you don't have an attorney, your only real option would be to turn yourself in and then sit and wait for your court date if the judge will not close out your case on your first appearance.

If you would like to discuss your case further, please give my office a call any time and you may discuss anything with me. 305.670.3119

The Cochran Firm has a new HOPE Program which is set up to give representation to those persons that cannot otherwise afford to hire private defense counsel. Those that qualify will get a Cochran Firm attorney and get the exact same dependable and quality representation as those that pay standard rates for their defense.
