warrents
if you fail to appear in court for a charge of petit theft my understandig is you recieve a bench warrent. is this correct and will it follow me in other states if i get pulled over for a traffic stop? what will happen?

If you fail to appear for a court date a judge will generally issue a warrant for your arrest. It depends on the judge you were originally supposed to appear in front of.
I would advise you to contact an attorney in the area where you were supposed to appear and get this situation resolved. The attorney can submit a motion to withdraw the warrant for you and clean up the situation.
