Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
whar does a stay granted date mean in a prison docket? my brother was sentenced to 1.9 years in prison on july 8, 2009 with the jail time his release date would be March 31, 2011. But in the court dockets this appears: STAY GRANTED - DUE 08/08/2010 ... could that be the date he has to pay for prison costs?? or what can it represent? PLEASE HELP

A stay stops or delays something. The best thing to do for your brother is to ask his attorney what the stay was for. They would have the answer. Otherwise it is not something that can be answered on this forum.
