Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My wife and I got into an argument and out of anger she called the police and filed a restraining order against me. She has since lifted the restraining order through the court. Now the state attorney office is trying to press charges against me for domestic violence. There was no violence committed and my wife is willing to attest to that. Is there anything that I can do to help resolve this issue? Or is this an issue that I can do nothing about until I am arrested and forced to go through the court system? Thank you!

If the State Attorney's Office files the charges, you will probably have to be arrested and go through the system. In the meantime, your wife can contact them and request that prosecution be waived and you should hire a criminal lawyer.
