Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Worthless Check from 3 years ago!
In 2003, I wrote a check that bounced. I was contacted by phone, I went in and paid cash. Now, almost 3 years later, I'm doing a background check and finding that I've got criminal charges against me!!! I have NEVER been contacted by ANYONE? What should I do?

If you want to start looking into the matter yourself, you may want to try to contact the clerk of court in the county where the offense allegedly occurred. The clerk should be able to give you the status of the case after you provide your name and date of birth. They may also be able to advise you if you have an active warrant for your arrest. If you have an open case, you should probably contact an attorney to review your case. Should you need help in this matter please contact my office and I will do what I can to assist.
