Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

written arrest

I was given a written arrest recently for unlawful use of a lcense. I do not understand how it is different than a normal arrest. The officer told me it was not as severe as a normal arrest. Is this true? Do I still need a lawyer present for my court date? And will this be on my record and for how long?

Unlawful use of a license is not just a traffic violation, it's a second degree misdemeanor. You can be taken to jail for that. But, instead of arresting you and taking you to jail, the officer just issued you a notice to appear in court.

The arrest will be on your record forever or until you have it sealed, if it can be. You should certainly have a lawyer present with you in court.
