Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Wrongful prosecution/disgruntled ex

My husband is attempting to clear his name of a grand theft based on the lied of a disgruntled ex. Our concern is that our attorney is not doing much on our behalf. We paid him 3k and he assured us that this was a ridiculous charge and that this would never go to trial. 6 months and 2k later it looks like it will go to trial and we are not sure what if anything our attorney has done to prevent it form going to trial. Does he have any financial incentive to get the case dropped. It would seem that it is quite the opposite. BTW we live in WA and the case is in Florida.

We have even considered accepting the plea the DA offers because we are going broke trying to fight this but we can't accept admitting to a crime that was not commited. It is truley a catch 22. I can see why that senator from Idaho accepted a plea and I don't doubt he was innocent!
