You might want to re-post this for a FL attorney if your brother is in FL. In California, employees are presumed to be at-will, which means, in general, they can quit or be let go at any time, for no reason or any reason -- as long as that reason is not illegal or in retaliation for whistleblowing. There are some exceptions. If your brother suspects that he was fired for discriminatory reasons or other potentially illegal activity by the employer, I'd like to hear more (if he's in CA). Thanks.
