Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Florida
falsifying
I was terminated from my job in January. I was accused of falsifying a record. We have to run a sample on the wastwater, but first we calibrate the machine, the first standard is a .06 and the second is a .8, the sample has to be inbetween those numbers. The .8 was changed to a 7.9(I guess the water could be almost 10 times dirtier) but everyone
was not told this. I continued to put .8 although I had noticed it was 7.9, I rounded the 7.9 to an 8 but I put the decimal point on the wrong side of the 8. I didnt immediatly put my results on the tracking sheet, by the time I did I guess I just had .8 in my head. I did not intend to falsify any record, I had nothing to gain. Some other people put wrong numbers down but nothing happened to them. I worked midnight(by choice) and some times I was operating on 2/3 hours sleep but I did like that shift. Any way I contacted DEP to see if they could help but now I think they are going to take my operators license. I need some help on this. I am a 58 yr old white female It want be easy for me to find a job without my license. I hope you can make heads or tails of this letter. Thanks,--name removed--

Re: falsifying
(1) Were instructions for the procedure you were doing
contained in a training manual?
(2) Was this for a discharge permit?
(3) What chemical and what were the facility's
limits on the permit?
(4) Needed is more information to compare this
to similar scenarios.
(5) Were you working in a lab?
(6) Were you calibrating equipment for the
analysis of other companies' samples?
(7) What kind of operator's license?
(8) Assuming that there is a licensing board in this, what does the
licensing board say about what happened?
