Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Florida
i am having a lot of trouble with my condo community. i moved in to the community in august, and a month later my boyfriend wanted to move in. unfortunately, he had committed a crime 5 years previously and due to his record, he was refused leasing options or to even be put as a secondary occupant. even though this was very disheartening as he already paid the consequences for these youthful actions, we moved forward. today i was approached by a woman from management. she told me that i would be getting a notice about my boyfriend not being able to be on the premises. she said it was due to a security guard seeing him exiting the community clubhouse after hours with another female a week ago. she said she was telling me just to give me a "heads up". however, he was with me the whole night. i have asked to see parts of the video tape they claim to have him on, but have been denied. they told me that he couldn't come through the front gate anymore. i am so distraught in this situation. i feel that he is being racially profiled. please help!!

You didn't say anything to indicate racial discrimination, only that your boyfriend has a criminal record.
You will have to look at the rules of the condo community. It is a private community, and they can make a rule such as 'no felons allowed'. As for the security guard's statement, and your boyfriend's current ban from the premises, you will have to look to the condo rules to see if there is a hearing and appeal procedure.
