video games

Are video game stores allowed to refuse a sale if a person refuses to show ID for the purchase, for a cash purchase, of a M rated game...even if this person is a minor, who is not legally required to carry ID for any other purpose..........therefore refused a sale based on age, .......... therfore are game ratings for guidence or for legal requirements.

Re: video games

Retail stores are legally permitted to refuse service to patrons for failing to follow reasonable store policies. Same as no shirt, no shoes, No Service! Requiring that patrons must be 18 or older to purchase an "M for Mature" rated video game is not discriminatory and is reasonable.

I'd suggest having a parent or older friend purchase for you, or simply make the purchase online.
