DUI refusal- was it the best decision?
I was pulled over for turning wrong way on a one way. The officer assumed I was DUI after asking me to provide registration. After asking me to step out of the car another officer asked me to stand straight and follow his fingers with my eyes.He did not tell me it was a road test. Then he asked if I would take a series of tests and I refused.I also refused the breathalizer. He arrested me and they searched my car w/out asking. After not finding anything but a knock off designer bag he took it for evidence(?)On our way to station, he followed another car that ran a stop sign w/ his lights on.The car ran from him and once he chased them down he got out and talked to the driver, (young female)let her go b/c she was already home. When he got back in the car I asked him politely why he'd arrested me and not the person running from him and he said I needed to mind my business. So my questions are these:1.IS he allowed to chase another car down while he's taking me to jail. 2.I don't think he read me my rights. How do I find out- shouldn't the whole thing be on tape?I asked to call my attorney everytime he asked me to take the tests but they never let me until I was already booked in holding cell. Was it best to refuse? How much will this be?

If you think that you would have blown over a .08 it was most likely the correct decision to refuse the breath test.
