Father has Dimentia
I'm trying to get my Father in a nursing home, but I don't want them to take all of his money in savings for this care. What can be done to keep the majority of $40,000.00 from disappearing to the nursing home?
He has many bills unpaid and going to collection.

It is not called "disappearing to the nursing home." It is called paying for their service in allowing him to stay. If you want to hide tyour father's assets so that he need not pay for what he buys or for what he is obligated to pay for, that is a different question. I always encourage people to pay their legitimate bills and expenses before requiring the government (taxpayers) to do so.

Your father can legally save some or all of his money in order to qualify for Medicaid. Medicaid will pay for your dad's nursing home care and medications, to the extent that your Dad's income is insufficient to cover these monthly costs. I would be happy to speak with you about this process. It can be complicated, but it is completely legal and accepted by the State of Florida.
I would be happy to talk with you.
