My grandmother has Alzheimer's. My mother is durable power of attorney for medical and financial. My grandmother has sixty thousand dollars in her account. Can my mother pay me 10 an hour to help with food fluids and medications throughout the day and part of the night? And can we get assistance once that 60,000 is gone? Medicaid?

The answer depends on the powers stated in the POA.
Most likely-she would have the power.
A better idea is to meet with a Medicaid attorney and put together a plan to protect all the assets.

As long as she keeps accurate records and you are given a 1099 at the end of the year to file taxes with. I also agree that she should meet with a medicaid attorney.
