liability
I live in an adult community in Florida. We are trying to start a volunteer service for caregivers. This service is free of charge and it's basically neighbors helping neighbors. We are trying to give a caregiver a much needed break. What is the exposure of a volunteer?

Re: liability
Good question and a difficult one to answer. Liability can be found in many forms, and in our extremely litigious society it doesn't take much for a good deed to be punished.
Florida does recognize some limited immunity for volunteers, but it is sometimes difficult to determine if your group will qualify. You should schedule a consultation with an attorney who specializes in Non-profit law. You should then consider purchasing an insurance policy to provide additional protection for the group.
By the way, I applaud your efforts to fulfill this need in the community.
