I Will is a permanent declaration of how your want your assets distributed at death and who should serve as the administrator of your estate. Unless it has been revoked, the Will should be maintained in a safe location for your entire life. Upon death, the document should be filed with the Circuit Court in the county of the decedents residence.

Additionally, a Will is a private document that no one is entitled to see until your death (it becomes a matter of public record once it is filed with the court).

If your father has passed, the county he died in may have a copy of his will on file - check with the probate office for that county.
