My momma is in an assisted care home but still has her home as her homestead but nobody live in it. She be on medicare and medicade. Squatters have tried to live in it and take her house before and claim the title if I cant come by and look over it. The house title is free and clear and my momma might want to reverse mortgage it.
Over five years, I have spendt thousands on fixing it up. My momma cant give me the house because she might lose her medicade. Is there anything I can do to secure its title and in my name? If she passes, can medicade put a lien on her house (its only worth about $60,000). Thank you.
