Power of Attorney
I live in Florida,Grandmother with demencia & bedridden lives in N.Y. Have been taking care of financial affairs as payee for her thru SSI. She has a home health attendant 24/7 N.Y. housing says I have to have POA now. If I use a N.Y. form for general POA how do we go about having the form notarized?
Sincerely, Laura

Not sure about NY law, but if your Grandmother's mental capacity is diminished, the POA may not be valid. In Florida you would have to get the court to appoint you as Guardian. It may be similar in NY, but you should contact an elder law attorney in the area where your grandmother lives.
