power of attorney
My parents who reside in Florida have designated me, their daughter, as power of attorney. Someone has informed me that since I reside in New Jersey, it is not legal for me to be POA for them since I don't live in Florida. Not one institution, ie. banks, nursing homes, etc. has questioned me signing any document as their POA being aware that my residency is out of state. Can you tell me which is correct? Thank you.

Not a problem at all. Don't listen to "someone".

You can be a power of attorney for someone even though you live in a different state.
