Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida

I am an actress

My friend just became my manager. We have no contract. I want to be modeling and acting and he said he can help me, but I dont want to be taken advantage of. What should I do? If he gets me work how does the payment get broken down? Can you guys help me? Please thanks!
