Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida
I am in a band slated to play a show in South Carolina. Press and publication has been distributed. I have never signed any contracts with the booking agent or my bandmates, and only said that the show sounds good. Now I realize that the pay is not worth the time and travel. One bandmate is threatening that the agency will put a lein on my house.....Can I back out of the show without worrying about being sued for breaking a contract with the venue or my bandmates?

Sounds like there are a lot more details that need to be discussed with a competent attorney. But just for a starters, the agency could not successfully place a lien on your home (homestead) in Florida.
As for advise about breaching a contract or not, the right answer is in the details you haven't provided. Just the same, your concerns for reputation, reliability and good karma within the band and to others may guide you to take it for the band and show up. SC is fun; the people are friendly. Treat it as a learning experience, or ask for a bigger piece of the payout. But show.
Good luck.
