Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida
Photographer refuses to provide the 10 edited images of my choice as promised
I am a part time model and have a portfolio on a model/photographer networking site. A photographer posted a casting call for a free studio shoot where the model accepts professional edited images instead of being paid and the photographer gets to use the images for his portfolio as well. I answered the casting and was chosen to do the shoot. I did the shoot and chose 10 of the 400 for him to edit. Usually I receive edited images back within a week but it has been three weeks and I have only recieved 2. The photographer is now saying that he is not going to provide the other 8 because he is just too busy however he had time to edit 3 others that he chose and is displaying them on his portfolio. I asked him to remove them from his portfolio since he did not follow through with what was promised but he refuses because I signed a contract. I requested a copy of the contract but he will not provide it either. Is there anything I can do here to either receive the 10 images of my choice or have him take the images off his portfolio if he still refuses to provide the images to me?

Since you've tried to persuade him already, it doesn't seem as though he will budge at the moment. While there may be other ways to complain to legal authorities (e.g. consumer complaints), your primary way to get his attention may be through the use of an attorney. Have an attorney send him a demand letter -- which will be less costly than litigation. Otherwise, legal suit (if allowed by the contract) may be the other avenue.
