Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida

Starting a business
I am in the process of starting a group with 2 other people. It will be a fan group geared towards a popular TV show. We are not intending on making huge profits, because our main goal is to get fans together at special events. We will probably use some type of merchandise to fund the event, as well as ask for donations. I don't know if we need to get a license, or become incorporated. I also would like to know if this can be considered a non profit group. If all goes well, this will turn into a huge club, so I want to avoid any potential copyright or other legal issues. We are intending on using our own material to avoid such potential problems. It would be difficult to obtain permission to use such copyrighted material, but we would consider hiring a legal specialist in this field to attempt to get us such permission. Our first event will be in June of this year, & we are already attempting to receive donations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
