Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida
Teen Court
I was caught shoplifting under $30 of merchandise at Walmart. I am being sent to Teen court, which everyone tells me is the best option. I have court next week. What should I expect when I go? What kinds of questions will they ask me. I haven't been able to sleep at night because I'm SO nervous. What should I expect as the outcome?

Re: Teen Court
It's usually less stressful than real court. A lawyer, not a judge, usually presides. The issue won't be whether you stole, but what your sentence should be. You may be asked why you stole or how cooperative you were when you got caught. You may be asked if you are sorry.
You shouldn't get too stressed about it. Just be respectful and answer the questions honestly. Your sentence will probably include community service hours, a letter of apology, and restitution (unless Wal-Mart got the property back). After you have completed your sentence, the charge will be dismissed.
