Legal Question in Environmental Law in Florida

I was in a district park with a bunch of friends who decided to go pick some mushrooms they saw on the ground. A park ranger was patrolling an area on our way back and stopped us only to then search one of my friends. He found a Ziploc bag worth of mushrooms. After he confiscated the bag, he wrote all of us up for a citation with a court date attached. The charge pending against me is :Removal of vegetation from district lands. What should I plead on my court date and should I find an attorney?

The citation is similar to one received for possessing illegal fish. If you or your

group picked the mushrooms, regardless of your lack of knowledge of the laws,

you cannot successfully plead "not guilty." An attorney is not likely to help

you unless there are facts you have not disclosed. No contest or guilty, with

payment of standard fine is usually the path taken.
