Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I have 2 children with ex boyfriend. He has a history of abuse, twice being arrested for domestic battery, but not charged due to him weaseling his way back in our life. I have documented abuse, pictures, video and pictures where he hurt my young son. I filed for a restraining order, and criminal charges for sexual battery(he has not been charged yet). He is seeking visitation with children, I want him kept away. It was suggested that he have a pscyh evaluation from the visitation center as they think he is mentally unstable. What are my chances at receiving full custody, I am a good mother, no record, a clean life I have led. He has an attorney who is going to try to make me look bad because I homeschool my child, and they sleep with me..and I did this because the children were always in fear from his violent behaviors.

How old are the kids?
Does either party have any criminal convictions?
Depending upon the severity of the abuse, you might have a decent chance at gaining sole custody.
Is your documentation enough to really prove the abuse?
Generally, it is not a good idea to proceed without counsel, especially if the other side is represented. Additionally, If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

If what you say can be proved you should succeed. However, I would advise you to get an attorney. It is never a good idea to represent yourself when it comes to children.
