Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

In 2000 a civil action was brought against me for $28,000.00 for child support owed. I agreed to the amount and started paying immediately. Last week I had the amount paid in full. However, now the court has issued a judgement that I owe the county $30,500.00 for interest due to the courts. This is the first I have heard of any interest being due and it appears they are charging over 100% interest. Is this legal? What steps do I need to take?

It's probably not 100% once you figure that it was compound interest. At any rate, you need to contact an attorney to see if interest can be waived or reduced.
