Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I have an 18mo old daughter who has lived with me and my mother since she was born. I have never been married to her father and just recently started recieving child support. I want to seek full custody of her because I feel her father is irrational and potentially dangerous. Hes bipolar and does not take meds. He has threatened suicide in front of her (actually had a knife held to his stomach) and has punched himself in the face in the midst of an angry fit. Its bad enough I have to deal with him let alone her witness this type of thing. He follows me around and threatens to beat up any person I want to date (he says hes smart and would get away with it). Hes ripped handles of my screen door trying to get in my house and a few times I wouldnt let him take our daughter so he physically blocked my path and wouldnt let me in my house with her. Where do I start with the courts in trying to protect my daughter and myself? HELP

You should see a lawyer. This is difficult to accomplish without counsel. You will need to file a motion for full custody and prove your allegations.
