Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
hello, i am a 15 year old and my father has been neglecting me and leaving me home alone all the time. He is verbally abusing me and he just recently told me to, "kiss his* ass". He truthfully could care less about me, he also told me that. He puts his girlfriend in front of me all the time. i am living in a bad environment and i can feel myself slowly getting depressed again. i really need to do something about my situation. Can you tell me my rights? i need to get out, and into a better nurturing home, like with my "family",they like down the street, as i call them, whom is very close to me and they always take care of me, unlike my father. Can they adopt me? ive already talked to them about it. is there anyway i can make this possible?

Call the Dept of Children and FAmily Services, tell them your situation. Have them remove you from the home while the investigate your father. In the meantime, if "your other family" really cares about you, have them tell the Dept. that they woud like for you to stay with them.
