Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am a 16 year old living in Florida my father and I have a very bad and mentally damaging relationship. He has been emotionally abusive for years (which comes in combination with heavy drinking), unfortunately he and my mother have joint custody. Both legal and physical. Due to some schooling issues i lived with him for a period of three months during which time I had to be hospitalized for extreme depression. Now after a huge fight I am back with my mom and I want to know if there is anyway I can have his custody of me revoked (even to the point of filing for a restraining order) without him stopping child support. I have no desire to ever have anything to do with man ever again in my life, but my mom and I need that money. Thanks in advance.

You can have your mom file a petition to modify the parenting plan. You can also have her request that I guardian ad litem be appointed on your behalf to represent you and make sure that your best interests are served. Regardless of the custody issues, the child support is unrelated, and he will need to continue making payments.
