Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

16 year old son no longer wants to live with his mother

I live in South Florida. My 16 year old son no longer wishes to live with his mother. He wishes to move in with me and transfer high schools. If he does move in with my, I would have primary residential custody of one child and my ex-wife would have primary residential custody of the other child, who is also in high school. My ex-wife's income is substantially more than mine, but I still pay a portion of child support and health insurance. I also do not claim either of the children on my tax return. If one child were to move in with me and one child lived with her, wouldn't this wipe out my child support payment to her, since one child would be living with me and one would be living with her? thank you for your input.

What you're saying makes sense, but without knowing what your incomes are and how much the health insurance is, I can't tell you for sure. There are a number of fairly accurate Florida child support calculators online. You can use one of those to get a better idea, but I'd be almost certain your child support would go away.
