Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
2 years ago there was a mistake on the child support worksheet in the final order of my divorce. I contacted my attorney and was told a few weeks later the judge had signed an order for a hearing, the issue was they didn't credit me for the overnights I had with my kids and I should pay the proper amount of support which was much less than the worksheet said to pay. Over a year passed and at the hearing the judge would not hear our request saying there was no motion filed, my lawyer told me not to worry. Well 8 months later I was found in contempt and told to pay $11,000.00 in back child support. Is there any action I can take against my attorney for not doing filing after I was told they did? I do have emails from there office telling me they had filed
