Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am 19 years old and my boyfriend and I are expecting a baby in April. I would like to know what happens if I do not give the baby his last name regarding child support. Also, he currently is not working, but I have heard that they then look at his last job at his hourly wages. Is this true? Also, I am currently on Medicaid and was told if I give the baby his last name they automatically go after the dad for child support, is this true?

If you do not give the baby his last name and then you decide to go after him for child support, you will need to file a paternity suit. Wages are wages. What is your real issue - do you want support or you want him to have no rights to the child?
