Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
2 years later
When my ex and I broke up she went for custody and asked for back child support. I get my 2 daughters every other weekend and on the holidays. She lets me get them when ever I want. But when she gets mad she wont let me see the girls so now I want to go for joint custody to have it in writing in the court system, how do I go about doing this and will my back child support and current child support be dropped?

You probably can't get the back support dropped, but, if you get custody, she will owe you support rather than you owing her. To get custody, you need to file a supplemental petition for modification of custody. But get a lawyer. Trying to change custody without a lawyer is legal suicide and a complete waste a money, not to mention that the court battle could be harmful to your daughters unless done right.
