Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I'M a 62 yr. old woman and receive permanent alimony from my ex. I have health problems and now my ex is having health problems and is considering lowering my $3000 per month alimony. We were married 37 years. I have only a high school education. He has his own business with assets in property. He is also considering getting disability. He has remarried and his new wife is working. Can he lower my alimony? We both live in Florida and always have. We were divorced in 2003. Thanks for your time.

If he can no longer afford to pay the alimony, a judge may reduce or terminate it. That's about the only reason alimony ever gets terminated or lowered though, unless you live with a boyfriend or remarry.
