Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Abandoned & Pregnant
My daughter is 6 months pregnant. Her boyfriend broke up with her. He's never provided any help for her or baby. Will this help her get sole custody of baby?
Can she get child support and not grant father visitation? (he has been threatening to her & said he doesn't want the baby);Or should we seek a lawyer to ask for sole custody where he won't have to pay child support. We are middle class,& my daughter could use child support monies but doesn't want to deal with the father. We've never had to hire a lawyer for anything before. His family on the other hand are a rough bunch that has had child support battles and unstable relationships, which my daughter knew nothing about when she dated this guy.He came across nice, treated her okay- then, she gets pregnant and he totally stopped EVERYTHING.He attended my daughters doctor visit 1 time & that was the day they could tell the sex of the child, it is a girl and the ''father'' cried because he wanted a boy, told my daughter he wanted no girls.Needless to say she's devastated to think she was tricked into falling for someone that turns out to be the opposite.Someone that can leave her & baby & never call to check on or anything. what are our legal avenues on the above questions? Help!

Re: Abandoned & Pregnant
Retain an attorney immediately . Paternity must be established.
