My husband left in April 2006
and offered no help for our child,
home, ect. Now that he has returned, what rights do I have, and what rights does he have?

If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
Did you ever take any action with a court during your husband's absence? If not, his rights remain the same as any father. You can file with the family court for child support if you like or for an order determining whom the child should live with. The court will then hear arguments from both parties and make a determination based on what is in the best interest of the child.

Re: abandonment
If his parental rights have not been legally terminated, he at least has the right to visitation. You have the right to receive child support if you have primary residential care (custody).
